IN SCENA IL DUO GIOVANNINI CAMPANONI - C Rescaldina -

 

Due magnifici attori e danzatori, Erica Giovannini e Francesco Campanoni.

In scena un tavolo e il loro multiforme talento.

Si chiama “La Stessa Luna” la nuova produzione dell'affiatato duo.

Tutto muove dal libro “Quando l'imperatore era un Dio”, di Julie Otsuka, che narra una pagina poco nota della storia americana. Spiega Giovannini: “ Nel libro ci sono tre personaggi principali: la madre, il figlio e la figlia. Un quarto personaggio è “presente” nel suo essere assente: il padre. Durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, gli emigrati giapponesi negli Stati Uniti vennero considerati nemici in patria.

Le famiglie furono smistate: gli uomini mandati in campi di rieducazione, situati nel deserto, e così anche le donne e i bambini, ma in luoghi diversi.

I tre personaggi (madre, figlio e figlia) visitano e vivono spazi e stagioni differenti.

Costretti a lasciare la propria casa, attraversano gli Stati Uniti in treno, fino a giungere alla baracca nel campo dove sono stati indirizzati, nel deserto dello Utah. Poi da lì torneranno a casa, e si ricongiungeranno col padre, in un tempo confuso tra realtà, ricordo, sogno.”

Non fatevi spaventare dalla storia: come nella precedente produzione (So Kind), i Nostri portano in scena grazia, leggerezza, poesia. La musica sdrammatizza, la danza trascina, nessuno piangerà.

Trasfigurare gli oggetti è la loro passione: il tavolo, struttura percorsa dai due attori, diventa treno, baracca, deserto. Qualcosa in più su di loro? Giovannini si forma come danzatrice,attrice e coreografa, frequentando prima la Scuola di Quelli di Grock, poi l'Atelier di Teatro Danza alla Paolo Grassi e frequentando la Folkwang Hochschule di Essen diretta dai danzatori di Pina Bausch.

Campanoni, scultore e incisore, allestisce spettacoli teatrali di cui firma regia, scenografia e testi; ha vinto il Premio Arte Mondadori Editore.

THE SAME MOON

Based on Julie Otsuka’s "When the Emperor was Divine" The book tells the story of a little-noted chapter in the story of America. "There are three principle characters in the book", says Giovannini, "mother, son, and daughter. And a fourth, present in his absence, the father. During the Second World War, Japanese immigrants in the U.S. came to be considered enemies of the state.

The family were separated: as were the women and children, the men were shipped to the desert, to reeducation camps – but not to the same camps.
Mother, son and daughter visit and experience different places and seasons.
They are forced to leave their home and cross the U.S. in trains to live in a barracks in a camp, in the Utah desert. Later, they return home again and are re-united with the father in a time confused between reality, memory, and dream."
To transfigure objects is the passion and desire  of this duo : the table, the only structure present in the scene, becomes train, barracks, desert.
Don't let the story frighten you off – the music relieves it of its weight, freeing the dance to draw you in. You won't cry. ( Silvia Vignati – Journalist, Il Giorno )
